Tenovus using Romex's Lone Worker Solution to support staff

Tenovus, the Cancer Charity has begun using Romex’s Lone Worker Protection Solution, to support
their staff.

Tenovus’s main aim is to prevent, treat and find a cure for cancer though offering support, advice and
treatment for cancer patients. They work to develop further innovations to support cancer patients
and their families and have launched a Mobile Cancer Support Unit to bring cancer care and treatment
into the heart of local communities.

Romex, the Mobile Application Service Provider, have extended its current portfolio and developed a
Lone worker Protection application to provide companies with employees that work on their own a
solution to help comply with the new rules surrounding employee safety. This is delivered as a Panic
alarm on a GPS enabled mobile phone.

Many of the staff at Tenovus are lone workers, who can find themselves in difficult situations with
vulnerable families, working out of hours. Liz Wilson, Director of Finance said “We felt that as a
duty of care and to support our workers, it would be a good idea to offer a Lone Worker Protection
Solution. We aren’t able to monitor the situations that our staff are in on a 24-7 basis so this seemed
a good way to provide protection. We are finding the application very effective and have established
that there will be other monitoring aspects that will be really useful to us too.”

She continued; “With the route planning aspect of Romex and monitoring of journeys we will be able
to work out the most effective route to visit our patients which we hope in turn will enable us to visit
more people and increase our efficiency of working.”

Jason Laight Sales Director for Romex said “We are delighted that Tenovus are using our solution.
There are many aspects of our applications that tie in with Health & Safety Legislation and work
particularly well for charities. With our off the shelf application that can be set up in minutes, it is an
easy and cost effective solution for those with limited budgets.”
