Romex Solves Health And Safety Legislation Issues
The Health & Safety (Offences) Act that came into force in January 2009 will require employees, managers and company directors to demonstrate their compliance with health and safety regulations. Romex (Romex World Ltd) the Mobile Application Service Provider (MASP) have launched a GPS tracking solution which is deployed on PDA?s and Smartphones (Blackberry, Windows, Symbian). This tracking solution will enable remote and lone worker monitoring that will provide the KEY information required for compliance with this amendment to the government legislation. The key feature of this software is that it is able to detect when the user is in a vehicle journey or not. The Romex solution negates the need for an IVU (In Vehicle Unit) which is fixed and hard wired and cannot monitor the mobile worker when they are not in their vehicle. This enables in-Vehicle and non vehicle elements to be to be monitored compiling an excellent audit trail and a safe and secure mobile working environment.
With the Romex MyFix software, speed, working hours, destinations and time driven can be monitored demonstrating a duty of care to the work force. The MyFix mobile application sends regular positions back to the TeamFix server which displays all LIVE and historic information over the internet. This can then be archived to ensure all future queries surrounding health and safety can be easily dealt with for any reason including litigation.
Jason Laight, Sales Director at Romex said: ?With the change in law, it is vital that companies comply with the new legislation. Romex?s off the shelf product means that those who have not prepared can be ready within 24 hours without having to invest in 3rd party leases and in-vehicle solutions. This technology not only helps with the Health and Safety Act but also helps increase productivity and reduce costs. In today?s economic climate, this factor is critical therefore a RED (Romex Enabled Device) is a must.?
